Community 🧑🤝🧑
We’ll talk about how standards can improve UX on Twitter Spaces today at 17:00 UTC during Community Call #40.
The Designathon is wrapped up, but #LegendsOfLightning is still going and entries are open until November 24. Create or join a project, build in public, and follow other makers along their journeys.
A second call for the Wallet Scrutiny project is coming up on November 14.
For all upcoming calls, subscribe to the calendar.
Moving forward from the Designathon
Very happy to see quite a few of the teams from the Designathon continuing in Legends of Lightning:
AgriMint are working towards finalizing their design system and developing a Fediment API gateway.
LNDg is also moving along swiftly, they are planning on doing more UX Research as well as building up the infrastructure to start the build phase.
Saving Satotshi is starting to develop a few lessons for their interactive educational game for developers.
Gift.Cash, an interface to create and send Bitcoin gift cards, is now working on their backend.
Stephen is working on PlebFM, a lightning-powered, auction-style jukebox. You select your song, pay for it with lightning and can vote it up using sats.
Bitcoin design guide 🗺️
With the Designation in full focus in the community, the guide didn’t have any major additions but here’s what is coming up.
Discussions about a merchant section are starting up again. Do you have experience with e-commerce, or dealing with merchants, hop in #merchants and share your thoughts.
Mo and Doc gathered feedback from guide users and collected some of it in a short video presentation.
We’ve got about 60+ open issues, we need to do some backlog grooming. We need to get the number down by the end of year. Who’s up for helping out with some janitorial work?
Seeking feedback 🗣️👂
Steve wants to get input on a project that would help people create their own adoption campaigns like WhenTaproot, or Unified QR Codes when they’d like to spread awareness, and speed up the rate of adoption of a new feature in the ecosystem. This is something we’ll also discuss on the community call today.
Miner? Validator? There’s interest in investigating how to move forward with this terminology. Chime in.
Everything else
It was also official whitepaper day on the 31st of October, the day when pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto submitted their white paper.
And it was logo day on November 1.
Discussions about node management interfaces kicked off with Marc from LNDg and Adi from Blockstream. Check out the research planning document. Christoph shared some design explorations.
A few people presented about the design community at the Bitcoin Barcelona meetup.
