Community 🧑🤝🧑
Community Call #25 is upon us today and will be the last call of the year. Join us to chat about what in 2021 and throw out bold ideas for 2022.
Speaking of 2021:
We (as a community) launched the Bitcoin Design Guide V1 and are almost done with V2, which adds content around the Lightning Network.
There were over 100 calls organized (recordings on YouTube and BitcoinTV)
We discussed or got involved with many projects. An incomplete list: Alby, Blixt, Bitcoin Beach, Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Smiles, The Biz, Breez, BTC Pay, Hello Bitcoin, Hexa, JoinMarket, LDK & BDK, Open Sats, Phoenix, Revault, Specter, and Zeus
We showed up strong at FOSDEM, Figma Config, Adopting Bitcoin, TABConf and various other conferences and hackathons
Thank you for being awesome and part of the journey 🙏
In Design Review Call #23, the Alby team presented the extension and asked for feedback on how to scale their onboarding. Watch the recording.
Design Guide Jam Session #18 is on Monday, December 13. We’ll discuss the progress of adding Lightning to the Payments section.
We reviewed the user experience of the Bitcoin Beach wallet in Wallet Review Call #6 (recording).
We’ll review Muun tomorrow (Thursday).
The Mastering the Lightning Network reading group finished the book in their 16th call in which they gathered their lessons learned. Keep an eye out for the recording (Tweet).
We will skip the next design review and design guide jam sessions and pick them back up in January.

An update to the External Signers page went live. The previous version was focused on signing devices. This was revised to also include software-based signing tools. Also new is a note about Lightning signers, which are still experimental tech.
Work on updating the Payment section with Lightning content is underway. As expected, this is the most complex section to work through.
After Lightning, what should we do next with the guide? Various discussions are being had, you should share your perspective.
Seeking feedback 🗣️👂
NFC in bitcoin has gotten a resurgence of interest. Now, sending and receiving Lightning payments offline via wristband or sticker is a thing. Zeus wallet added NFC support in their latest release, check it and give the team some feedback.
