Community 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

• The UX research group had calls about Geyser, JAM, and Saving Satoshi

• The Bitcoin Core App group had two design calls (one, two). Also keep an eye on their design documentation

• And the Fedimint crew has their biweekly calls on Wednesdays (there’s one today) 

• We had a design review call with Peach today (recording)

• The community also had a design review call with Etta wallet.

• A Bitcoin Design Foundation is being established with the goal of bringing long-term sustainability to Bitcoin Design. More info coming soon

• The OpenSats community page is updated. All donations will support community projects and events

• The last Chapter 3 issue on Saving Satoshi has been completed. Give it a try and provide feedback, while Chapters 4 & 5 are already in the works.

• Wallet Scrutiny is looking for contributors of security reviews (Discord)

Hackathons and conferences 🧑‍💻

• The Nostrasia hackathon started yesterday (October 3). You can still join

• Legends of Lightning Vol 2 starts tomorrow (October 5). Are you ready?

• Hacktoberfest as well (10101 is looking for UX help)

• Pacific Bitcoin also starts tomorrow

• Bitcoin Amsterdam is starting next week on the 12th

• The Build for Africa hackathon starts October 16

• Plan B is October 20-21

• Foss backstage is happening March 4-5

Bitcoin design guide 🗺️

• Recent updates include improved search, the new page about send fees, better accessibility via support for increased contrast settings and a new header for the receiving bitcoin page

• The Bitcoin UX Research Toolkit is now also listed on the community projects page. The kit is being tested with several projects at the moment and all feedback is appreciated

• The how-to page about complex spending conditions is ready for review. Hear more about it in the latest jam session recording

• Are you interested in adding content about merchants or Ecash UX? Reach out in Discord

• An update to the Bitcoin Icons library is in the works with 9 additions

Seeking feedback 🗣️👂

• Saunter is wondering whether to visually differentiate Nostr Zaps in the Alby transaction list

• Andrej would like feedback on logo variations for Ion Isle

• erik would like input on mobile layouts for managing Ecash mints

• Moritz asked whether to round fiat values of small sat amounts, like €0.0001 (what the design guide recommends)

• Christoph wonders if we will end up with wallet apps that handle multiple layers, or dedicated ones
