Bitcoin Design Newsletter #45
Prague, Accessibility day, Etta & BDG Wallets, UX research kit, and more...
BTC Prague
For the first time in the 3-year history of the Bitcoin Design Community, we were involved in a bitcoin conference in a more formal way. We helped organize a design lounge at hackday, featuring comfy sofas and mood lighting, along with talks on inheritance, research, AI art and more. We rounded up hackday with a thrilling design duel, leading to incredible new features. Then we had a booth (shout-out to Spiral for sponsoring) during the 3 day expo where we showcased the good work done in the community and had endless conversations around bitcoin & design. We saw many familiar faces from the community, thanks all for stopping by (reach out if you’d like the Nostr badges (one, two)). Here are a few snapshots.
Community 🧑🤝🧑
Join us today at 14:00 UTC for Community Call #50 on Twitter Spaces where we’ll share our experience at BTC Prague. Tune in here.
We had two design review calls:
The Wallet Scrutiny redesign is close to a soft-launch - big improvements, with lots more polish to come based on feedback. Recordings of the latest calls are here and here.
Accessibility awareness day was a great success. We kicked off the day with a call and spent the rest of the day tackling accessibility issues. Some accessibility issues we looked at were for BTCPay and the Bitcoin design guide. Thanks to all participating projects, including Wallet of Satoshi, Peach, Bolt.Fun, Alby, Damus, and Zeus.
The UX Research crew had another call as well where they chatted about the live version of the kit.
Bitcoin design guide 🗺️
Projects like BDG Wallet and Etta Wallet closely build on the guide and there is a strong interest in closer collaboration. We’ll investigate how to make this happen in the next few weeks. Join our jam session on Monday to chime in. In the same vein, we’ll kick off the larger savings wallet revision.
Remember the survey we did on the bitcoin design guide? Findings are still relevant, and while we closed the issue, you can always find it in the contribute section of the guide.
